UNDERSTANDING THE MASS
Based on the results of the DMI Survey, the Survey Committee learned that one of the primary areas in which OLA needs to grow is how the Mass matters. Our first step in how to find ways to improve Mass attendance and how we celebrate the Liturgy is by providing the parishioners a simple five week Catechesis on the Mass. These lessons coincide with the church’s recommendation that we reflect on the Mass at this time of the year when we hear the Bread of Life Discourse from the Gospel of St. John. The lessons are taken from a Five Part Series adapted from Dr. Marcellino D’Ambrosio’s book, “Exploring the Catholic Church”. It is the hope of the Committee and myself that these lessons will spark a new interest in the Mass and prompt questions and discussions as we continue to reflect on the Mass throughout the coming year.
